This charming and characterful cottage is located in the village of Freshwater and is accessed along a quiet lane. On entering the cottage there is a small study area leading to a cosy open plan living area with a wood burner which in turns leads through to a dining and kitchen area. From the kitchen area you can access a patio with garden furniture and there are steps up to the lawned garden. There is also a utility area and a bathroom. On the first floor you will find a twin bedroom with en-suite facilities and a kingsize bedroom.
The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts with a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along a former railway line.
Cycle to the famous Needles landmark or take on the full ’round the island route’, which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee held over the May bank holiday. You can also travel along the route at a more leisurely pace and along the way you will find numerous restaurants, pubs and cafés, amongst the quaint villages and towns serving tasty local produce.
The property is located less than 3 miles from the Yarmouth ferry and is a perfect base to explore the West Wight.
There are plenty of coastal and country walks on your doorstep such as the Tennyson Trail as well as family attractions such as The Needles and Tapnell Farm and exhilarating water based activities at Freshwater Bay. There are many other attractions for all the family including Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Black Gang Chine theme park, picturesque villages with thatched cottages and a model village to name a few. Shanklin Chine, a deep wooded gorge with waterfalls is also worth a visit, and leads down to the beach. Beach 1½ miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile
