Galmpton village has a shop, post office and lovely pub, The Manor Inn, which serves good food and is dog friendly. The cottage itself has two bedrooms and a shower and two separate toilets. The living room has a sofa, two comfy chairs and a rocking chair. The kitchen has a good level of kitchen equipment, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a conservatory with a dining table, so you can eat dinner with a view of the pretty garden, or on a warm day sit in the garden. The cottage has a lovely, quiet, secluded outside seating area where there is a table and chair in the garden to allow you to dine in the fresh air or just to sit in the sun. The cottage also benefits from a long drive for parking.
The village of Galmpton has a steam train running juston the edge of the village and a local station for the steam train, in Churston, which is just a short walk away.

A vintage bus runs through the village and takes visitors to Agatha Christie’s house and gardens. The River Dart is not far from the cottage and you can get a ferry across to the lovely village of Dittisham, or to Dartmouth. There are some lovely walks in the area and also green lanes and footpaths. I have put some books of local walks in the property and some local maps.
Throughout the bay there are pretty beaches, the nearest is Broadsands, which is about a mile and has a pay and display car park. Dogs are not allowed on this beach May to Oct, but a short walk from Broadsands beach across the pitch and putt is Elberry Cove which dogs areallowed on all year around.

Elberry Cove is a lovely secluded beach with the remains of Lord Churston’s Bath House on the edge of this beach. These ruins always used to fascinate me as a child. There are rock pools to the sides of both Elberry Cove and Broadsands Beach as the tide goes out. Great fun for the children looking in the rock pools at the tiny crabs and small fish. Broadsands is a sandy beach a great for making sandcastles. There is also a lovely coastal walk from Brixham to Paignton and on to Torquay, as well as many other coastal path walks around the bay. A few miles from Galmpton is a water slide park, which is great fun. It is next to Goodrington Beach and has a nice pub there called the Inn on the Quay, which is a family friendly restaurant and ba
