This beautiful eco-style property is a detached lodge set in the most stunning surroundings overlooking a lake and the famous RSPB Ham Wall Nature Reserve and surrounded by the Mendip Hills. This property is an absolute must for bird watching enthusiasts. The marsh harrier is often seen in the area and giant egrets can often be seen around the lake. The booming bittern can also be heard and not forgetting the amazing starling murmurations which can be seen from November to March. This is an incredible sight which you can view from the privacy of Sunnyside Lodge’s garden, or even from hot tub! There is also carp fishing available by prior arrangement.
The owners live on-site and are available if assistance is required. Sunnyside Lodge is decorated to a high standard and has a private hot tub where you can relax and enjoy amazing views of the surrounding area. The National Cycle Network is very close by and Sunnyside Lodge is an excellent base if you wish to bring your bikes and go off exploring. Bike storage is available. There is also a barbecue area for guest to bring their own BBQ’s.
Sunnyside Lodge is situated between the city of Wells. with its famous cathedral and bishops palace, and the mystical village of Glastonbury, with its famous tor and abbey, is definitely worth a visit.
Wookey Hole Caves and the Cheddar Gorge and Caves are also nearby. If you wish to go a bit further afield, Longleat Safari Park is within an hour’s drive and you are also a reasonably short car journey away from the coast. You will not be short of places to visit and for things to do. If you fancy a bit of retail therapy, Clark’s Village is just 3 miles away and Bath and Bristol are also easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
