Poole Harbour, Winchester and Salisbury are all within a 40-minute drive, and other places to visit include Moors Valley and Avon Heath, which are ideal for keen amblers.
Take a trip to Beaulieu Motor Museum, the New Forest Wildlife Park, maritime Southampton, The Tank Museum at Bovington, and Stonehenge. The New Forest National Park is within easy driving distance and has miles of scenic walks and a network of bridle paths and footpaths, and you can often find ponies and cattle roaming the streets in one of the many picturesque villages.
