Fernhill Cottage can be found nestled in the midst of Brontë Country, in the small West Yorkshire village of Oxenhope. Located at the top of a sweeping driveway surrounded by beautiful gardens in the grounds of the owners’ home, this single-storey detached cottage was fully renovated throughout in 2018. Beautifully finished with wonderful attention to detail, both bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities which include an inbuilt stereo system for you to play your music through. The open plan living space boasts a magnificent 75" television, while outdoors, the private patio area catches the sun well into the evening.
Just ½ a mile away is the terminus of the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway, an authentic steam railway fondly remembered from the film ‘The Railway Children’. A short ride will take you direct to the Brontë attractions of Haworth, located just 2 miles away, including the Brontë Parsonage Museum. Steeped in literary history, Haworth is a pretty village with a cobbled main high street, and has much to offer from independent shops, cafés, pubs and galleries.
Fabulous walking is available in the area including to Top Withens, reputedly the setting for ’Wuthering Heights’.
Oxenhope itself has shops, churches and pubs serving good food, as well as being known for the legendary Oxenhope Straw Race. Wonderfully artsy Hebden Bridge, also home to the National Trust’s Hardcastle Crags, can be reached in around 15 minutes, and the market town of Skipton, otherwise known as the ‘Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, can be reached in around half an hour. Shop, pub and restaurant 600 yards
