The ancient historical city of York is 28¼ miles away, where you will find ancient winding cobbled streets, a Gothic minster, museums and lots more. The National Trust properties of Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey make for a lovely day out and are just a short drive. This area is also ideal for keen cyclists and walkers.
