Beech Cottage is the perfect place for that romantic getaway. With a wood burner in the living room, it is ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring in the winter time, or enjoy front and rear gardens with a glass of something cold after a day at the beach in the summer.
Part of our More Than Dog Friendly Collection, Beech Cottage is a great place to take your furry friends on holiday with you, as there are plenty of walks right from the doorstep and pet friendly pubs and tea rooms within the village. Scalby is a picturesque and peaceful village towards the outskirts of Scarborough, but has everything you could need during your stay, including great places to eat, a general store and there’s even a tennis club and a golf course around the corner.
Scalby Mills is just down road and you can enjoy a lovely walk along the sea front from the Sea Life Centre, right onto the Scarborough’s North Bay with Peasholm Park, The Open Air Theatre with regular concerts by international stars throughout the summer and there is also a waterpark.
There is a wonderful seaside walk around to Scarborough’s South Bay, which is more bright lights, penny arcades and ice cream shops, as well as a long beach, donkey rides and all you would expect from a traditional seaside resort.
Head inland from the coast and you’ll find plenty to see and do in and around the North York Moors National Park and the Forge Valley Woods National Nature Reserve. Dalby Forest, 8 miles away, is a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, outdoor adventures and also concerts. There are plenty of villages and towns such as Pickering, Malton, Helmsley and just 18 miles further up the coast is the traditional seaside town of Whitby. Just over 40 miles away the walled city of York is a great place to spend a day and enjoy all the attractions it has to offer. Beach 2 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards
