Sedgefield dates back to the 13th century, and was believed to exist as a Roman settlement. With a pretty village green at its centre, it boasts a good choice of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms close by.
Conveniently located just minutes from the A1, Sedgefield links up with a host of local attractions. The city of Durham is a short drive away. A World Heritage Site, with a magnificent cathedral and castle and an array of medieval architecture, Durham has winding cobbled streets, unique shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield, yet still a short drive, a day out at Beamish Museum is a must for all.

Nearby Sedgefield Races are a regular feature on the local calendar, and take place all year round. Why not visit Alnwick, with its famous castle used in the Harry Potter films, or the Heritage Coast, peppered with castles and golden beaches? York, with its beautiful minster, can be reached within just an hour.
The Croft can be booked together with Durham House (ref UKC911) to accommodate up to 19 guests. Beach 18 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards
