Extra Amenities

With outstanding views over the bay of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Bertys Beach View is set in the middle of the promenade on the first and second floor of this iconic building within the owner’s cafe, in the heart and soul of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. First established in the early 1900s with a fascinating history and founded by Ben and Rosie, The Bertorelli family have been in residence here for generations, and to this day, this splendid building and ice cream parlour is run by Frank and Mayling Bertorelli who look forward to welcoming you to share time in this art deco style building. Visitors will receive a complementary voucher for coffee and a home made 99 Italian ice cream to enjoy whilst soaking up the ambience within the original café.

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, once a thriving fishing village, still has a few fishing cobles and can be seen from the large windows going out to sea.

If you are lucky enough, you may spot the dolphins or some seals and will often see the local ’dolphin watch’ team around.

If you are not out and about exploring, then enjoy your lunch or dinner sat in the large bay window of your apartment whilst relaxing and watching the sailing boats or admiring ’The Couple’ off shore statue, the only one on the north east coast and designed by Sean Henry. Later in the evening you can relax with the large Smart TV and admire the hand-painted cherub art featured on one wall.

When you step outside, you are on the promenade which stretches for a mile from end to end, with the Maritime Centre at one end which houses a small museum and gift shop. The village has a butcher, green grocer, bakery, takeaways, Italian and Indian restaurant.

The golf course is only 500 yards away and the local bus is nearby where you can literally hop on and get off in Newcastle or Morpeth.

The historic town of Morpeth is only 8 miles and has a good selection of shops, some housed in the Edwardian Sanderson Arcade, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. Alnwick Castle is an easy drive as is the Northumbrian Heritage coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Bertys Beach View is near a great road network making travelling around this diverse county, voted the best place to holiday in the 2018 British Tourism Awards, easy in all directions. All the popular attractions are easily reached from here and with the promenade and beach on the doorstep, Bertys Beach View truly does offer the best of everything. Beach 50 yards. Shop and pub 50 yards, restaurant 100 yard
