Extra Amenities

This contemporary style holiday home is ideal for couples, set in the centre of this pretty, historic, small market town of Rothbury. Once the old telephone exchange for the area, this stone built, semi-detached cottage now offers comfortable and stylish living accommodation for four guests, using modern interior colours, renovated throughout in 2018. Only a 2-minute walk to a choice of pubs, most serving food and a couple of restaurants and tea rooms.
Cyclists will love that the Sandstone Way Cycle Path runs outside, down from the Scottish Borders to the Peak District, and the cottage provides a space for you to store your bikes.

The location is ideal as you can leave your car behind and enjoy the local facilities and indeed, take a walk right from the door up the Simonside Hills. Rothbury is only 12 miles from Alnwick making a day trip to the historic town to see the castle, gardens and cobbled streets a short journey away. It is less than a mile to Cragside House and Gardens which sits on the edge of the village, a marvellous National Trust site with something for all ages. No trip to Northumberland would be complete without a day trip up to the Northumbrian Heritage Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where miles of sandy beaches and historic castles await.

Or travel over to Hadrian’s Wall and explore the remains of the Roman Forts, the wall itself or visit The Sill. Of course Northumberland also has the fabulous highly acclaimed Dark Sky Park around Kielder, all within easy reach of Rothbury. This friendly and diverse county has been voted ’The best county to visit’ in the 2018 British Travel Awards and you can be sure of a warm welcome around the county. Beach 19¾ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 175 yards.
