Courtyard. On road parking. No smoking. Set at the end of a row of houses with open aspects over The Links towards Coquet Island is this deceptively spacious holiday home. Only a hop, skip and a jump to the centre of Amble, the popular town has a great community spirit, and has been dubbed the ‘friendliest port’. There’s a working harbour, a pretty marina and a sandy beach to enjoy, just a short walk from this end terraced property.
A popular Sunday market on the harbour provides a great morning out. You’ll find a super little fish restaurant hidden behind the lifeboat house, and an award-winning ice cream parlour.
Coquet Island is a designated RSPB protected bird sanctuary home to some 30,000 puffins, which can be seen on the puffin cruises that depart from Amble. Just two miles away is the picture-perfect village of Warkworth with its hillside castle, pubs, shops and scenic walks along the banks of the river. Young witches and wizards are drawn to Alnwick Castle, which featured in the Harry Potter films. You can also visit the impressive water gardens and the world’s largest treehouse-turned restaurant whilst you’re there.
Characterised by vast golden stretches, pristine bays and rolling sand dunes, it’s little wonder why the coastline north of Amble was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Heritage Coastline offers plenty of cycle and footpaths for outdoorsy types of holidaymakers. Truly, Island View is a great location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt county with all necessary amenities right on your doorstep
