Set in Amble’s town centre, ROK House is set back off the road only a few hundred yards from the local amenities and only a short walk to the harbour in this small friendly fishing town. Built in 1935, refurbished in 2018, this terraced home offers the perfect base for families looking to explore Northumberland. The living room has a 49" Smart TV with Freeview and is a great area to relax in. ROK House also has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area to enjoy those family meals or lazy mornings at the large breakfast bar. The open plan living space even has large bi-fold doors opening onto the rear sitting-out area bringing the outside in. ROK House is a super base to relax in after a day exploring the surrounding area.
Amble has a friendly port with a working harbour, marina and small beach, and you can also find some small pod style shops, popular on a Sunday when the busy market takes place.
Around the harbour are some small fish restaurants as well as two fish and chip shops and an Italian style ice cream shop with a fantastic range of ice cream. Boat trips are available here to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away and makes a lovely walk along the river admiring the view of Warkworth Castle which often holds events through the year. There are pubs, bespoke shops and further opportunities to explore all with free parking, it is a popular place to visit. A few minutes drive from here is the town of Alnwick with its cobbled streets and famous castle which has featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
Alnwick Gardens, with its spectacular grand cascade waterfall and the worlds largest treehouse restaurant should not be missed. Amble is on the edge an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, along the Heritage Coast with some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque villages in England, with plenty of walking and cycle paths, and fishing can also be found nearby. Amble is a great location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt county with all the amenities you need on your doorstep. The train station in Alnmouth is only 5 miles away, where you can hop on a train to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Durham or York should you wish to make the most of the area and see some of the lovely architecture and shops in these vibrant cities Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
