Situated in the heart of the vibrant town of Ambleside, decorated and finished to a very good standard, Water Howes Cottage is a charming and cosy semi-detached property brimming with character and loving touches. The owners have put much thought and attention to detail in renovating this traditional Lakeland stone cottage. The Lakeland slate stones are throughout the ground floor of the house. Leather sofas and hotel quality bed linen and towels add extra luxury to your stay. The extended kitchen creates plenty of space for cooking and socialising. A stunning family bathroom has also been created on the first floor with a walk-in shower and freestanding bath, providing a real treat after a day on the hills.
The flexible accommodation makes it ideal for families or couples to share.
Located on a quiet street, the property is a stone’s throw from the bustling town centre with walks in all directions from the doorstep. Ambleside is set at the head of Windermere and you can catch the steamer ferry from Bowness-on-Windermere to take in the spectacular scenery which makes this area so popular. Some of the ferries date back to the early 1900s, and you can really imagine yourself reliving parts from the famous book ’Swallows and Amazons’ by Arthur Ransome, or why not try to spot ‘Bownessie’, the alleged lake monster! Kids will love swinging through the trees at Go Ape in Grizedale Forest, just across the lake.
For a more relaxing day with the little ones, you can visit The World Of Beatrix Potter attraction, and then Hill Top House where the famous author lived, and Peter Rabbit hopped through the gardens! Ambleside offers a huge range of things to do no matter what the weather or season. You can leave the car behind for a week and walk, cycle, shop and eat in a wide range of cafes, pubs and restaurants. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards
