Live close to nature in this truly exceptional re-creation of a ’Saxon Hall’. Offering four bedroom suites with four bathroom suites this luxury group accommodation is in the most beautiful rural setting within the South Downs National Park. Framed by the South Downs and looking onto the Rother Valley an undisturbed valley tucked away next to the Arun Valley the views of the ancient brookland meadows with their wild flowers dragonflies and wetland birds is magnificent when flooded and enchanting when in bloom. The meadows here are a registered wading bird breeding ground. The House on the Brooks is built on the same field as the Hardham Roman Camp with the Roman Road of Stane Street passing close by. The ’Saxon Hall’-style designed interior with the roof timbers exposed was built by the master craftsman Rodney Elliot who was born in the parish along with a team of other local craftsmen and women who have all enjoyed making this place special. There are four themed bedrooms which are beautifully furnished and presented and there are televisions in each room. From the luxury of your bedroom you will enjoy an outlook most special this truly is a wonderful setting. Three of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and the fourth a large walk-in shower room.

There is the same attention to detail here on both style and themed finish in these bathrooms.

This home is the perfect retreat for a group of friends coming together for that special celebration. There is a team waiting to take as much care of you as you would like and professional catering can be arranged direct with the owner should you want to make the occasion even more special.
The River Rother passes to the side of the house offering ½ mile of private fishing and along its banks you have easy access to the start of the Rother Valley Walk and a network of footpaths that will encourage you to walk and enjoy such complete solitude. Find yourself watching cormorants buzzards heron huge numbers of duck and geese all depending on the season when you choose to visit. If you are looking for larger accomodation then House on the Brooks can be booked with Mill House on the Brooks (ref A536053) and The Timber Store (ref A536437) to offer a large group more options.
The House on the Brooks falls within the boundary of the South Downs National Park and Pulborough Brooks, just a mile away in the Arun Valley, has many excellentwalks across the Brooks and along the banks of the River Arun, offering uninterrupted views south towards the South Downs.

Part of the Brooks contains one of the RSPB’s major reserves in the south and is just 2 miles from the house.
Also nearby is the West Sussex Golf Club which is regularly judged one of the outstanding inland courses in Britain with a priceless oasis of heather sand heath and trees beneath the Sussex Downs. Just 4 miles away, and nestling at the foot of the South Downs, is Parham House - a magnificent Elizabethan home that is a real jewel. Heading northwest from Pulborough is the historic market town of Petworth, best known as the location of the National Trust’s stately home Petworth House and deer park which was landscaped by Capability Brown. The magnificent country house contains an internationally renowned art collection with numerous works by Turner. Petworth itself was immortalised in his paintings.
