Located in the heart of the Isle of Wight’s sailing capital of Cowes, this reverse-level terraced house, dating back to the 18th-century, has been lovingly restored and recently re-painted and re-carpeted in 2020. It’s a lovely family holiday home whether you are sailing at a regatta, exploring the Isle of Wight on holiday or down to see family. The property is also adjacent to the dog-friendly Northwood Park.
Furnished with comfy beds, it has five large bedrooms and three bathrooms. The layout means that there is ample space for guests to do different activities. The sitting room can be quiet while the kitchen and games room are a hub of activity. Equally there are two different seating areas in the garden. The house has five floors (with two half landings) providing plenty of space for guests to be together or hide away for quiet time. Each bedroom has quality beds, tasteful décor and views of the park, marina or enjoys far-reaching harbour views.
The living space is split across two floors; on the ground floor as you enter you’ll find a spacious and charming living room, which catches the evening sunshine and has cosy open fireplace. The lower floor consists of a large kitchen and dining area which extends out onto the patio area, as well as boasting a family games room equipped with a pool table and table tennis. Outside, the enclosed garden with patio area has been well appointed, providing the ultimate place for al fresco dining on a sunny day, and even has an extra drinks fridge in the nearby shed.
The famous harbour and bustling streets of Cowes are just a short stroll down the hill where the majority of shops are independent, not chain stores. There are some great restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Red Jet Ferry terminal is just 250 yards away, please contact the owner for a special discount before booking a ticket! Cowes Yacht Haven is a 3-minute walk and the nearest beach is 7 minutes away.
The Isle of Wight is renowned for its wide selection of outdoor activities and includes over 500 miles of scenic footpaths. If you are looking for activity there’s paddle boarding, kayaking, paragliding, sailing, RIB rides, horse riding and some stunning golf courses. Being a holiday destination there are numerous events such as The Garlic Festival, The Isle of Wight Festival, The Literary Festival, Rhythmtree, The Steam Fair, and of course there’s a regatta in Cowes most weekends during the summer, the most famous being Cowes Week at the beginning of August.
Whatever your reason to visit, this house is a welcoming comfortable base, great party house or a quiet retreat. We look forward to welcoming you soon. Beach 100 yards. Shops, pubs and restaurants 100 yards.
