You may wish to simply enjoy the surroundings of the lodge, however if you do venture out you will not be short of places to explore. The New Forest National Park offers some fantastic walking and cycling trails and some fantastic village inns for a drink or two and a bite to eat, and the perfect place for some fresh air and exercise. If you are staying with children of a certain age, the Paulton Park and Peppa Pig World is the perfect day out and is just a few miles from the lodge. If you are looking to head out for dinner, the very well regarded Les Mirabel restaurant is a little over a mile away (early booking is advised) or a more traditional village Inn, The Lamb Inn, is also just over a mile away.
The stunning cathedral city of Salisbury is also well worth a visit whist staying at Lakeside Lodge, with the iconic Neolithic stones of Stonehenge a sight to behold, a little north of Salisbury. If you long for a sandy beach and some fresh sea air, the sandy beaches of Mudeford and Bournemouth are a little over half an hour’s drive away and make the perfect day out for guests of all ages.
