Holmfirth and the surrounding areas are home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Yorkshire Pennines, once most recognisable as the backdrop to the record breaking ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series. Upon exploring the picturesque town you’ll discover a wide selection of shops, bars, and restaurants to choose from, together with a renowned live music venue the ‘Picturedrome’. Cycling enthusiasts can recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire, and wine enthusiasts can visit Holmfirth Vineyard for tasting and afternoon tea. Being located on the edge of the Peak District National Park means there’s ample walking and cycling opportunities with miles of open countryside to explore.
