The city of York offers a variety of attractions - the ancient minster, city walls and beautiful architecture, together with a variety of museums, including the National Railway Museum, Castle Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre.
The cobbled streets be-decked with flowers, home to many street artistes, house many interesting specialist shops, restaurants and bars and an open street market, sometimes visited by continental markets. Alternatively take a leisurely trip along the river, stopping at riverside inns. Two golf courses, a sports centre, Waterworld theme swimming pool, theatres, multi cinema complex, bowling alley, all lie within two miles, and there is a large playing field with football nets in the grounds.
