You enter this cottage into the open lounge area which invites you to “come in and settle down”, kick off your boots and hang you jacket after a good day’s walking and take a seat in front of a roaring log fire. The Cottage maintains a clean & cosy feel throughout to give you that “home from home” feel. Moving through the cottage you enter the dining room, again with a log burner so you have the perfect social area to talk about the day’s events. The kitchen has ample space and facilities to be able to cater for everything from a packed lunch to a full Sunday roast. Off the dining room is a door which leads down to the cellar bedroom, an ideal cosy den with its low ceiling and king size bed.

Moving upstairs there is a family sized bathroom with a bath for soaking those aching feet or if you prefer, a shower unit over the bath. The master bedroom is good sized and has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a twin bed layout. The property is completed by a private patio area to the rear where you can enjoy a glass of wine on those warm summer evenings. Windermere itself is a beautiful village with a nice selection of independent shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants so you may not even want to explore any further but for those that do, within 1 mile walk you can find yourself in Bowness-on-Windermerewhich offers an even greater selection of independent shops & bars.

It is also home to the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, then of course you arrive at one of the focal points of Lake Windermere itself, which offers ferries to other areas and attractions around the lake itself, including the Lakes aquarium, Hill Top House of Beatrix Potter and Haverthwaite Steam railway. If you enjoy water sports then you can choose to hire everything from motorboats, canoes, kayaks or paddle boards. With Michelin starred restaurants, to cinemas and theatres, stately homes and of course some of the most stunning scenery on the planet, there is sure to be something for everyone in the Lake
