Situated close to central Newport and Cowes, this holiday home sits near to the water’s edge and marina which runs along the banks of the River Medina. You can take advantage of this unique location with moorings available to rent (at cost, by prior arrangement with the marina). Nearby is a popular restaurant which produces home-cooked meals from fresh, local produce and has a delicious choice of daily specials.
As an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the marina is home to many species of birds and wildlife. Meadows and woodland copses slope down to the marina’s edge. A stroll along the nature trail allows you to fully appreciate the seclusion and tranquillity of the marina site. There are further beautiful country walks, and Newport, the county town of the island, with its abundance of pubs, shops and restaurants, can be easily reached by a pleasant walk along the riverside cycle path.
There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, including The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay.
Why not visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, or Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK? Ventnor Botanic Garden, Tapnell Farm Park and Carisbrooke Castle are also worth a visit, or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes will make for a good day out.
