Utility room: With freezer and washing machine.
Bedroom: With kingsize bed, 22” Freeview TV, door leading to decking, and en-suite with shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.
Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Covered decking with patio, garden furniture, barbecue and chiminea. Large field (shared with owner). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: No children under 2 years old, including babes in arms. There are two steps to the terrace and a netted pond in the field, 5 yards away.
Nestling in the owner’s grounds with stunning uninterrupted rural views, this beautifully converted detached lodge will not disappoint. There is access over a small bridge to a sunken, covered deck with comfortable outdoor armchairs. It is shaded from the sun on a hot day or a good place to tuck up under in windy weather. Feed the fish in the large ornamental Koi pond, which is next to a sheltered area. Light the chiminea and sit back and enjoy the glorious sunsets across the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The spacious interior has been stylishly furnished, relax in the living area on the recliner sofa in front of the log-effect fire.
There is an excellent country pub just a short stroll away, which was built in 1624 and has a beautiful inglenook fireplace.
The pretty village of Cowbeech is ideal for walkers and cyclists. There are a plethora of footpaths from the doorstep and the Cuckoo Trail provides 19 miles of walkways and lanes that follow the old Cuckoo Line Railway from Heathfield to Eastbourne. If you’ve left your bikes at home it’s possible to hire bikes and if you’re lucky you’ll also hear the cuckoo in spring! The Wealden area also attracts quality wine producers including Hidden Spring at Horam, Rathfinney at Alfriston and The English Wine Centre at Berwick, book a tour in advance to avoid disappointment.
Stroll around the colourful gardens at Herstmonceux Castle and the stunning moated Michelham Priory. Visit the Trug Shop and take home a beautiful, traditional Sussex trug gardening basket. Trout fishing is available in the beautiful surroundings of Brick Farm Lakes. Explore the coast at Eastbourne, a half hour drive away and see the iconic Beachy Head or take a boat trip. There are good train connections from Polegate or Battle to London for further sightseeing opportunities. Beach 8 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 50 yard
