Self-catering holiday cottages to rent near Leyburn in Yorkshire

The traditional North Country market town of Leyburn is located at the heart of Wensleydale and one many consider to be a “Town for all Seasons” and a gateway to the famous and quite stunning Yorkshire Dales. It offers some wonderful views of the North Yorkshire countryside and provides self-caterers the ideal base for sightseeing, walking, hiking and cycling (it was a Tour de Yorkshire town in 2018) or just simply taking in the local charm. Some cottages have bike stores and of course there are cycle rental shops - just ask if you want to hire one.

It has two rather unusual claims to fame; the community Wensleydale Railway, worth a trip on as a relaxing way of seeing the North Yorkshire countryside and Tennants, one of the largest auction rooms in England, regularly featuring on TV antique-hunting programmes (sale days are Saturdays and Wednesdays, viewings the day before).

Select from the great variety of holiday cottages for self-catering guests to rent, late availability and any discounted promotion will be indicated on the property details page - large holiday houses and cottages are available for short from 2 night / weekend breaks as well as weekly rentals:

Nearby, and within relatively easy walking distance (just a couple of miles) you’ll find the lovely Aysgarth Falls while in the opposite direction, Middleham which is across the River Ure by the historic and somewhat unusual suspension bridge.
