Hampshire holiday cottages

Hampshire is a fascinating place to stay, it is on the south coast of England and is the third largest county in the UK. The county town is Winchester which used to be the capital city of England. It is bordered by Dorset , Wiltshire , Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex . The south part is coastline on the English Channel and includes the Solent waterway which faces the Isle of Wight. Half of the county's population live within the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth. As well as being home of the Royal Navy, Hampshire also has claim to be the original founding place of the British Army, and the Royal Air Force!

Every holiday home is individual and we know how precious vacation time is. We want to help you find the perfect cottage or large house for rent , so please use the filters and search by party size or map or facilities such as hot tubs, swimming pools etc.

Staying in Hampshire

Not surprisingly Hampshire is a real draw for sailors, The Cowes week being the pinnacle of the sailing calendar. It has lots of marinas and pretty coastal towns. Inland the main geological features are the South Downs and New Forest, both popular spots for walking and riding. There are lots of great villages and towns, with many 'flint stone' houses and pubs. There are cathedrals, stately homes and lots of interesting museums you won't be short of things to do. Treat it like a multi center break if you can stay a week or two - and have the city time and then a rural escape - if you want to hop over the water you can do that too!
